A Trip to Billings

A couple weekends ago we made our first trip up to Billings to visit Ben, Sarah, and Trevy. Now that we're Wyoming we're actually closer to Billings than we are to Brigham City. It's only a 4 hour drive for us and we had a really fun weekend just being able to hang out and spend time with them.

We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese, which was an adventure. The kids absolutely loved it. I wish we'd have gotten some pictures, but neither my camera nor Sarah's camera had working batteries. It was so fun to watch the boys run and play. We drove around Billings and saw the temple, drove up on 'The Rims', and went downtown to see all the little shops. Mostly we just let the boys play at Ben & Sarah's apartment. They were WILD! They ran and chased and climbed and jumped and wrestled...they were boys.

The County Fair

The end of summer just isn't the same without a trip to the Box Elder County Fair. We met our family at the parade and the boys managed to take home a truck load of candy without getting run over by a tractor. They even helped make sure Trevy got a bag full of candy too.

After the parade we went with Ben, Sarah, and Trevor to the fair for rides and food.

Chaos!

Several months ago Shane took an exciting opportunity to go to work in Colorado for the end of last school year and throughout the summer. We went and spent the summer with him and once it was time for school to start again, Shane got transferred to Wyoming. So we decided to take our boys and live there for the year.
This is an exciting school year for our boys...less exciting for mom. Terry started the 2nd grade and Charlie started kindergarten. What we didn't know is that in Wyoming kindergarten is ALL day. Mom had completely prepared herself for half day! Luckly Charlie was totally pumped about being able to go all day. Mom just has to get used to the idea and find ways to keep busy.
Here are a few things the boys like about school so far.

Terry:
  • His teacher can do magic tricks
  • He gets to help with the magic tricks
  • His teacher is a boy

Charlie:

  • They get to have recess more than one time every day
  • He loves PE and is excited to have the same PE shoes as Terry
  • Sometimes PE is in the SAME room as the lunchroom/gym
  • With lunch you get more than just chicken nuggets and he can eat all of it (said very proudly)
